If you want to let your friends what your listening to in Media Player or Winamp while chatting you can change your status to what you listening in Yahoo Messenger using a cool plugin for Yahoo Messenger : yStatus that lets you show what you are listening to in Windows Media Player.
YStatus updates your Yahoo Messenger status text with the currently playing song info from Windows Media Player.
For Winamp there is a similar plugin named YMS Status Changer.
