It is very easy to find your friend being invisible or offline in GTalk.

 

Jus follow the steps below…

 

+  Open the Chat Window of the User, you want to check the status for.

+  Click on option and click on "Go Off the Record".

+  Send a Message to User.

+  If you get "User is offline and can't receive messages" writen in red color, that means a User is actually offline.

+  But if you get nothing in response, know that a User is online and in Invisible mode

Google talk :

- Create a shortcut of GTalk on your desktop .
- Right click on the Google Talk messenger icon and select properties.
- Modify target location text from

“c:\program files\google\google talk\googletalk.exe” /startmenu
to
“c:\program files\google\google talk\googletalk.exe” /nomutex

- Click OK.
- Now u can open GTalk any number of instances.

Yahoo messenger :

- Go to Start -> Run -> Type regedit and press Enter
- Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER->> Software ->> Yahoo ->> pager ->>Test
- Right click on test -> choose new Dword value and rename it as Plural.
- Double click it -> assign a decimal value of 1.
- Close registry and restart yahoo messenger.
- Now u can open yahoo messenger any number of instances.

We can do a lot of interesting stuff with Gtalk like get alert notifications, save bookmarks to delicious, manage web calendars, set reminders, write blogs, and more.Such features can be easily integrated into Google Talk through ‘bots’ which, in simple English, are like virtual friends who are online 24×7 and will always respond to your requests.

Here are the eleven most useful ‘bots’ that transform Gtalk into a more useful program :

1. imfeeds@gmail.com - Add this IM Feeds bot as your Google Talk buddy and you’ll be able to read any blog or website that syndicates content via RSS feeds.To subscribe to a website in GTalk, simply send a new IM message that says "sub labnol.org" where labnol.org is the site address that you want to read inside Google Talk.

2. friendfeed@bot.im - This secret bot lets you post to FriendFeed from Google Talk. You may submit either hyperlinks or text messages.

3. imified@imified.com - This imified bot turns Google Talk into a real powerhouse.You can post bookmarks to delicious, send messages to Twitter, submit blog entries to WordPress, Tumblr or Blogger, manage events in Google Calendar, shorten long URLs, run whois and so on.

4. inezhabot@gmail.com - Like IM Feeds, iNezha bot helps you read feeds inside Google Talk but this is slightly more versatile. For instance, you can simply say "digg" and it will show a list of all feeds that match that search term so you don’t have to type (or copy-paste) feed addresses.

5. Translation - This is a free service from Google that helps you translate words from a foreign language into your native language. Just add the relevant bot (e.g. hi2en@bot.talk.google.com for Hindi to English or en2hi@bot.talk.google.com for English to Hindi) as your buddy, send him a message and it will get translated instantly.

6. Use Google Talk with Twitter - Invite twitter@twitter.com to become your friend in Google Talk and verify your account. Now whenever you IM this new friend, the message will automatically publish on your twitter account.

7. Set Task Reminders - If you need to remember something important, Google Talk can send you reminders for that event.Just add timer to your Twitter friend’s list and then add twitter@twitter.com to your buddy list in Gtalk. Now if you want to get a reminder after 50 minutes, send a direct message to twitter like "d timer 50 pick kids from school" and a reminder will automatically pop up in your Google Talk after 50 minutes.

8. Transliteration - If you want to chat in your mother tongue (like Hindi or Tamil) but feel more comfortable using the English keyboard, Google Transliteration bot will come in handy.For instance, add en2hi.translit@bot.talk.google.com to you friend’s list in GTalk and all messages you type in English will get transliterated in the language of your choice. Available only for a few Indian languages.

9. Xpenser - With xpenser, you can record travel expenses via email, SMS or even Google talk. Add xpenserbot@gmail.com as your buddy and send a message like "lunch 33.2 with Bill Gates" and that will be added as an expense to your online spreadsheet that can be accessed from anywhere.

10. Ping.fm - Like Imified, ping.fm is one of the most useful Google bots out there especially if you are a social networking or micro-blogging addict.Add pingdotfm@gmail.com to Gtalk and you can communicate with twitter, jaiku, wordpress, identi.ca, facebook, myspace, bebo, friendfeed, linkedin, tumblr, plaxo, friendster, delicious and more.

11. Meshly - Add meshly@gmail.com as your friend and you’ll be able to post web link to your Meshly account via Google Talk. You can also add tags, categories and description to your hyperlink via Gtalk itself.

You can edit most settings of GTalk by opening regedit (start -> regedit), and navigating to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Google/Google Talk.

1.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Talk\Options\show_pin
If 1, shows a "pin" next to the minimize button that keeps the windows on top of all the other open windows when clicked.

2.)HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Talk\Options\view_show_taskbutton
If 0, hides the taskbar button, and leaves the tray icon only, when the window is shown

3.)HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Talk\Options\away_inactive
If 1, status will be set as Away after the specified number of minutes.

4.)HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Talk\Options\away_screensaver
If 1, status will be set as Away after the specified number of minutes.

5.)HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Talk\Options\inactive_minutes
Number of inactive minutes to become away if auto-away is on.
Use multiple identities on Google Talk:
Want to run Google Talk with multiple Gmail identities? If you have several Google Gmail accounts you also may want to run multiple instances of Google Talk This is especially important for families that share a single PC. Nothing worse than a family member signing you out so they can sign in under their own account!Basically, to have "Google Polygamy" you need to run Google Talk with the following switch: /nomutex

1: Right-click on the desktopStep
2: Select NewStep
3: Select ShortcutStep
4: Paste this into the text box:
"c:program filesgooglegoogle talkgoogletalk.exe" /nomutex
5: Click Next and choose a shortcut name such as Google Talk1, Google Talk2, or something related to your Gmail account for easy remembering which account is which.Step
6: Click OK a few times.

There are a few secret parameters you can add to Google Talk and make it function differently.

/nomutex, which allows you to run more than one instance of GT.
/autostart, when Google Talk is run with this parameter, it will check the registry settings to see if it needs to be started or not. If the "Start automatically with Windows" option is unchecked, it won't start.
/forcestart, same as /autostart, but forces it to start no matter what option was set.
/S upgrade, Used when upgrading Google Talk
/register: registers Google Talk in the registry, includig the GMail Compose method.
/checkupdate: check for newer versions
/plaintextauth: uses plain authentication mechanism instead then Google's GAIA mechanism. Used for testing the plain method on Google's servers.
/nogaiaauth: disables GAIA authentication method. The same as above.
/factoryreset: set settings back to default.
/gaiaserver servername.com: uses a different GAIA server to connect to Google Talk. Used for debug purposes only, there are no other known GAIA servers.
/mailto email@host.com: send an email with Gmail
/diag: start Google Talk in diagnostic mode
/log: probably has something to do with the diagnostic logging

- Open your instant messenger (Gtalk,Yahoo,MSN) and add service@gtalk2voip.com to your buddy/contact list.After adding you can see service@gtalk2voip.com appears to be online.
- Now IM HELP and you will get a list of available commands.if you are lazy then directly IM RADIO command to service@gtalk2voip.com and you will get the list of free radio stations.
- As you get the list of available radio station,just IM RADIO NUMBER (Ex – RADIO 202)
- A automatically generated IM appears on the screen - Please, accept call from gtalk2voip.Just accept the call and you can listen to radio for free.
- Add to your contact list NUMBER@radio.gtalk2voip.com (works with Google Talk).
Ex. 202@radio.gtalk2voip.com Just press Call button to connect to the radio station and you will get live online Internet radio.

If u want to type word or sentense in BOLD in google talk.. jus type * before and after the word or sentence.After u send the message, u can see the selected text in BOLD.

To enable Multiple GTalk, follow the steps..

- Right click on the Google Talk shortcut.

- click on Properties.

- Go to Shortcut tab on Google Talk Properties window.

- On the Target textbox, add in the /nomutex to the end of the line so that it looks like below (or you can simply copy and paste the below syntax and replace the original).
“c:\program files\google\google talk\googletalk.exe” /nomutex

- Click on OK.


ALTERNATE METHOD by creating a new shortcut for Google Talk:

- Right-click on the desktop or anywhere you want to place the GTalk shortcut.

- Select New on the right click context menu.

- Then select Shortcut.

- Copy and paste the following line to the text box when prompted to type the location of the item: “c:\program files\google\google talk\googletalk.exe” /nomutex
